Cancellations and Late Policy

We ask for a 24 hour cancellation notice in order to accommodate other patients. You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, you may be charged your entire appointment fee. If you cancel or miss two appointments in a row, you may be discharged from our services. If you return and are readmitted for care, you will be charged the initial visit fee for your first visit

This policy is enforced strictly for a number of reasons. For instance, given proper notice we can fill the vacancy with another client who is in need of treatment, but may have had to wait if the schedule was full. We often have a waiting list for clients who need immediate attention and a missed appointment means a waste of valuable care. We receive messages 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All messages are time and date stamped.

Telephone Policy

We strive to return all of your phone calls before the end of each business day. In order to accomplish this, we must limit our callbacks to five minutes. If your concerns cannot be addressed in that time frame, a telephone consultation can be arranged at a charge of $30.00 per occurrence or a follow up appointment may be scheduled to better meet your needs.

Fees and Payment

Payment in full via cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or Health Savings Account (HSA) is expected at the time of service. We do not accept Workers Compensation cases or motor vehicle accident insurance cases, and we do not submit claims to insurance companies or 3rd party payers. Fees are subject to change without notice. You will be charged $50.00 for any form of payment not honored by the bank.

PRIVATE OR GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE: Health insurance coverage for acupuncture is variable. You are expected to pay for services in full at the time the care is provided. Please contact your health insurance company to determine if your plan offers an acupuncture benefit. We are not, by choice, “in-network” with any insurance plan. If your insurance plan offers “out-of-network” coverage for acupuncture and you would like to submit documentation for reimbursement from your insurance plan, we will provide a superbill upon request. A superbill is an itemized list of services rendered, including diagnosis and medical billing codes. Please contact your health insurance company or refer to your policy for inquiries about benefits and coverage process.

MEDICARE:  At present, Medicare does not cover acupuncture. Please contact your Congressperson and request they support Medicare coverage of acupuncture for beneficiaries.
